Throughout my decade of work as a sports journalist, I have covered every level and nearly every sport throughout America. When I worked at the Southeast Missourian as the sports editor, I covered high school sports from Cape Girardeau to Jackson to Perryville, while also covering professional sports in St. Louis.

While I will provide similar if not better coverage of high school sports in Longview, WA, as the sports editor of The Daily News, I plan to purpose this website as a hub for professional and college sports coverage in both the Portland area and Seattle.

I covered the St. Louis Blues during both the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons for the Southeast Missourian. I also covered the St. Louis Battlehawks of the UFL (2023-24) and St. Louis City’s first season in MLS (2023).

I see this site as a proper platform of coverage of Portland’s three basketball teams (Trail Blazers, Fire and Remix) with player feature interviews, game coverage and notes. I also plan to extend coverage to Seattle, starting with the Kraken and eventually the Mariners, where I have the most experience.

I also see Capo Sports Media as a photo hub for other independent digital media outlets that cover sports in the Pacific Northwest but don’t have access to mainstream wire services such as the Associated Press and Imagn Images. The professional photos that I take during events would be available to them, which would break the barriers of content production.

This site is a hub for my work covering sports in the region but also providing photos and coverage for high schools in Vancouver Wa, or Portland who want to hire a photographer for individual sports such as wrestling, swimming, track; sports that don’t get a lot of coverage from the local papers but are none the less special to those involved in it.

There’s a multi facet approach to Capo Sports Media, and it is a one-man show. But in due time, with the cooperation from communication staffs and interest from neighboring communities, I fully believe this project will live up to its immense potential.
