Minnesota defeated Washington 27-24 in a battle of Big Ten teams on Saturday, Sept. 26, in Seattle. 

Minnesota took a 14-0 lead in the first quarter on two touchdown passes from quarterback Drake Lindsey to Quayd Hendryx and Jalen Smith. 

Washington scored its first touchdown on a 16-yard pass from quarterback Demond Williams Jr. to Dezmen Roebuck. 

Minnesota scored another touchdown on a pass from Lindsey and a field goal from Washington made it a 21-10 game entering halftime. 

After Minnesota kicked a field goal in the third quarter, Washington began to rally in the fourth quarter. Williams threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Baron Naone and later ran 13 yards for another score. 

Between Washington’s two scoring drives, Minnesota kicked a field goal that proved to be the difference in the game.
