UC Davis led by quarterback Treynor Cleeland’s two touchdown passes and running back Jordan Fisher’s two scores from the ground. 

The Vikings ambushed the Aggies early for a 21-0 lead. Tyrese Smith scored a pair of rushing touchdowns and Cru Newman returned a punt 78 yards to the end zone.

UC Davis’ first points came on safety after a missed snap to the Portland State punter. The Aggies took that spark and started to climb back. They tied the game 24-24 on Cleeland’s 15-yard touchdown pass to Samuel Gbatu Jr. Cleeland connected with Picket for the two-point conversion, and later found him again on a 22-yard, catch-and-run touchdown for the go-ahead touchdown with 27 seconds left.
